This Privacy Policy explains how CalculateMyGold.com ("we", "us", or "the site") handles information when you use our free gold, silver, and platinum calculator. We have written it to be straightforward rather than legalistic, so you can understand exactly what happens when you visit.

Information we collect directly

CalculateMyGold.com does not ask you to register, log in, or submit personal information. We do not run a server-side database of user records. The weight, karat, currency, and offer amounts you type into the calculator are processed entirely in your browser and are never transmitted to us.

Information stored in your browser

The site uses your browser's local storage for three things: (1) your cookie-consent choice, (2) a short-lived cache of the latest metal prices and exchange rates so pages load instantly on repeat visits, and (3) a small cache of historical price points used to draw the price chart. This information stays on your device and is not sent to our servers. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

Third-party services we use

Live metal price and exchange-rate feeds

To display up-to-date spot prices and currency conversions, your browser fetches data from public data services (currently gold-api.com and a public currency-rates dataset served via the jsDelivr content-delivery network). When your browser makes these requests, the provider may log your IP address and basic request metadata (such as browser type) for technical and anti-abuse purposes. We do not control what these providers log; please refer to each provider's own privacy policy for details.

Approximate location lookup

On the calculator page, your browser makes one request to a geolocation service (ipapi.co) that returns the country associated with your IP address. We use this solely to preselect a sensible default language, currency, and karat for your region — for example, showing rupees and 22K to a visitor from India. The lookup happens in your browser; we do not receive or store the result on any server of ours. You can override every preselected value manually, and the service provider's handling of your IP address is governed by its own privacy policy.

Hosting and content delivery

The site is served through a hosting/content-delivery provider (Cloudflare), which necessarily processes visitor IP addresses and request logs to deliver pages, prevent abuse, and provide security. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.

Google Fonts

We load the DM Sans and Playfair Display typefaces from Google Fonts. Google may receive your IP address and user-agent as part of serving these font files. Google describes this behavior in the Google Privacy Policy.

Google AdSense and advertising cookies

We use Google AdSense, a third-party advertising service provided by Google LLC, to display advertisements on this site. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads and to measure their performance.

Cookies

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device. We use cookies for two purposes: (1) remembering your calculator preferences and your cookie-consent choice, and (2) serving advertising through Google AdSense, including the third-party advertising and DoubleClick cookies described above. When you first visit, a consent banner lets you accept or decline advertising cookies; your choice is stored locally in your browser. Most browsers also let you refuse or delete cookies directly; doing so will not break the calculator, though it may reset your saved preferences.

Analytics

We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns (for example, how many visits the site receives and which pages are most useful). We do not combine analytics data with personally identifying information.

Children's privacy

The site is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

Your choices and rights

Because we do not collect personal information on our own servers, there is typically no account or record for you to access or delete on our side. Where third-party services hold data about you (such as Google for advertising), you should use their own privacy controls. For residents of the European Union, United Kingdom, or California who have specific data-protection rights, you may contact us with any request and we will assist to the extent reasonably possible.

International users

CalculateMyGold.com is accessible worldwide. By using the site, you consent to the processing of any data by the third-party services described above, which may be located in countries outside your own.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example if we add new features or change advertising partners. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
